The Calathea Makoyana, also known as the Peacock Plant, is an indoor plant admired for its large, ornamental leaves that feature vibrant green and white patterns, reminiscent of peacock feathers. This plant is ideal for adding an exotic and sophisticated touch to any interior space.

Cares
Prefers bright indirect light. Direct sunlight can burn the delicate leaves.
Keep the soil moist, but not soggy. Water regularly, allowing the top layer of soil to dry out between waterings.
Ideal between 18-24°C. Protect from cold drafts and temperatures below 15°C.
It needs high humidity, ideally between 60-70%. Use a humidifier or a tray with stones and water.
Well-drained soil rich in organic matter. A mixture of peat, perlite and pine bark is recommended.
Fertilize every two weeks in spring and summer with a diluted balanced liquid fertilizer.
Remove yellow or damaged leaves to encourage healthy growth.
Vulnerable to mites and mealybugs. Treat with insecticidal soap or neem oil if necessary.
It doesn't usually need additional support as it grows erect and compact.
It is non-toxic to pets, making it safe for homes with dogs and cats.
