Cares
It prefers bright indirect light, but can tolerate partial shade. As it has less chlorophyll in its beautiful variegated leaves, it requires more light to carry out photosynthesis efficiently. Avoid intense direct sunlight.
Keep the soil slightly damp, watering when the first 2-3 cm of the soil is dried.
It grows well at temperatures between 18°C and 27°C.
It needs high humidity, ideally between 60% and 80%.
Use well-drained soil rich in organic matter. Mixtures for tropical plants are ideal.
Fertilize monthly during spring and summer with a balanced fertilizer.
Prune occasionally to control size and remove damaged or dead leaves.
Vulnerable to mealybugs, mites and aphids. Monitor regularly and treat with appropriate insecticide.
It may need support, such as stakes or trellises, to support vertical growth.
Toxic to pets and humans if ingested, causing oral and gastrointestinal irritation.
